Game development

Game foundations

An upcoming track for a one-screen game loop: movement, a jump that lands, and a goal you can reach.

Three game screens: arrows, a jump, and a corridor
UpcomingTo be set when the track opens

Playable reviews — the scene has to run

Who it is for

People who want to learn game development by making a small thing that plays. The track is not open. A waitlist note holds your place in the conversation, not a seat we have not scheduled.

What you build

  • A figure that runs and jumps on a small set of platforms
  • A collision that fails in an obvious way when it is wrong
  • A goal the player can finish without a menu tour

Modules

  1. 01

    Feel before scenery

Jump height, gravity, and landing. Art waits until the motion is honest.

  2. 02

    One screen, one verb

Reach the flag. Extra systems are out of scope until that verb is solid.

  3. 03

A build someone else can play

If it only runs on your machine with a verbal warning, it is not ready to show.

What changes for you

  • You can talk about why a jump feels early or late
  • You have a playable scene, when the track is running
  • Until then, the honest outcome of this page is a waitlist
