Program Overview

Design With Purpose

Great design is part empathy, part craft, part strategy. This program teaches all three.

Why This Program?

Most design courses teach tools. We teach process. You'll learn to research, define problems, explore solutions, prototype, test with real users, and iterate — the same workflow used at companies like Apple, Google, and Airbnb. Tools change; process is forever.

  • End-to-end design process — research to handoff
  • Portfolio-ready case studies with real user testing data
  • Figma mastery including design systems and prototyping
  • Design critique culture that sharpens your eye fast

Curriculum

From Sketch to System

An intensive 8-week program that covers the complete product design process — research, design, prototype, test, repeat.

Phase 1

Week 1

Design Thinking & Foundations

Learn the foundational principles that separate good design from great design.

  • Design thinking framework — empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test
  • UI vs UX — understanding the complete design spectrum
  • Design principles — hierarchy, contrast, alignment, proximity, repetition
  • Color theory, typography fundamentals, and visual rhythm
  • Analyzing great design — case studies of Airbnb, Stripe, and Notion
Phase 2

Week 2

User Research & Strategy

Understand your users deeply before touching a single pixel.

  • User research methods — interviews, surveys, contextual inquiry
  • Creating user personas and empathy maps
  • User journey mapping and experience mapping
  • Information architecture and card sorting
  • Competitive analysis and design audits
  • Defining problems with "How Might We" statements
Phase 3

Weeks 3-4

Wireframing & Figma Mastery

Go from paper sketches to pixel-perfect digital wireframes in Figma.

  • Low-fidelity wireframes — paper sketches to digital wireframes
  • Figma interface mastery — frames, components, auto layout
  • Figma advanced features — variants, constraints, responsive design
  • Creating wireframe kits and reusable templates
  • User flow diagrams and site maps in Figma
  • Collaborative design with Figma teams and branching
Phase 4

Week 5

High-Fidelity Design & Prototyping

Transform wireframes into polished, interactive prototypes.

  • Translating wireframes to pixel-perfect high-fidelity mockups
  • Interactive prototyping — transitions, overlays, scroll animations
  • Micro-interactions and motion design principles
  • Smart Animate and advanced Figma prototyping features
  • Usability testing with prototypes and iterating based on feedback
Phase 5

Weeks 6-7

Design Systems & Component Libraries

Build scalable design systems that keep products consistent at any scale.

  • Building a design system from scratch — tokens, atoms, molecules, organisms
  • Component architecture — states, variants, and documentation
  • Responsive design patterns for mobile, tablet, and desktop
  • Accessibility standards — WCAG compliance, screen reader considerations
  • Design handoff best practices — specs, assets, and developer collaboration
  • Version control for design files and change management
Phase 6

Week 8

Portfolio Building & Career Prep

Package your work into a portfolio that gets you interviews.

  • Structuring case studies that tell a compelling story
  • Building a Behance / Dribbble portfolio with 3+ projects
  • Creating a personal brand and design resume
  • Presenting design work to stakeholders and clients
  • Mock design challenges and whiteboard exercises
  • Interview preparation for UI/UX design roles
